Going out to eat with the family is fun, but finding a restaurant that keeps everyone happy can be a challenge. Thankfully, Omaha has many restaurants with fare that will not only thrill kids, but also give parents plenty to enjoy. Here are 7 Omaha restaurants that are great for families to visit.

Inner Rail Food Hall

Address: 1911 S 67th St

Visiting Inner Rail Food Hall is like getting nine restaurants, not to mention a fully-stocked bar, in one. With various restaurant concepts under one roof, the Inner Rail offers burgers, sushi, sandwiches, pizza, Thai food, gyros, and more, so everyone in the family can get exactly what they want. The Inner Rail also has board and yard games, sand volleyball courts, a dog bar, and a spacious patio, not to mention events like Music Bingo and trivia, so there are plenty of fun activities to entertain toddlers, kids, and parents.

Mootz

Address: 8725 Shamrock Rd

If it feels like Mootz has a familial atmosphere, there’s a good reason—nearly the entire family works there! And the talented Adkisson family is passionate about helping families enjoy their pizza experience. The pizzas cooked quickly in a wood-fired oven, so you won’t wait long for your food. And because pizzas can be ordered by the slice, everyone can get the toppings they want most.

Porky Butts BBQ

Address: 15475 Ruggles St

Porky Butts BBQ gives you great bang for your buck without sacrificing food quality, so if you want barbecue for the whole family, this is your spot! Owner Blane Hunter is an award-winning pitmaster, and his brisket, burnt ends, ribs, and other smoked meats are competition-worthy. But if the kids want something simpler, Porky Butts has chicken strips, loaded fries, and mac & cheese, too. And a Family Platter, with over a pound of meat and multiple sides, is just over $30, making Porky Butts BBQ a very economical option for families.

Dairy Chef

Address: 3223 N 204th St

With a spacious patio, fantastic ice cream, and portion sizes to satisfy any appetite, Dairy Chef is a great place to take the family for a treat in the summer. But despite the name, it’s not all ice cream at Dairy Chef; you can make a meal out of the visit by ordering burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and more. And though the restaurant is almost always busy during the summer, meals and ice cream are delivered in a matter of minutes. Whether you want to take the family out for a meal or an ice cream treat, Dairy Chef has you covered.

Lemon Tree Cafe

Address: 7614 Main St

Eating breakfast at Lemon Tree Café feels like stepping back into the past. The diner has a cozy, welcoming vibe and casual atmosphere that welcomes everyone from long-time regulars to bustling families. The menu has everything from bacon and eggs and chocolate chip pancakes to stuffed French Toast and hash plates, all offered at a family-friendly price. And if your kids need a sweet treat, Lemon Tree Café is renowned for its freshly baked cinnamon rolls.

The Churro Spot

Address: 1319 S 50th St

As the name suggests, The Churro Spot serves excellent churros, so any sweet tooths in the family will be very happy here. But this restaurant has all kinds of Mexican dishes to offer, from tacos to burritos, nachos, quesadillas, tamales, and more. The Churro Spot is bright and colorful, and kids will love all the references and decorations dedicated to the owners’ dog. But parents will also enjoy the flavorful meats and Mexican dishes, making this a Mexican spot the whole family can enjoy.

Rotisserie Urban Bistro

Address: 1917 S 67th St

Everybody loves chicken, right? And Rotisserie Urban Bistro makes the experience not only customizable, but delicious! Usually a Chipotle-style ordering system, you can get your juicy, flavorful chicken in a sandwich, bowl, or platter, topped with the sauces, vegetables, and sides you desire. You can also order a Family Meal or a Whole Chicken, making it easy to please the whole family or grab food to go.
