Pizza is one of those universally loved foods, and whether you’re in Omaha for business, the Henry Doorly Zoo, or the College World Series, there’s a good chance you’ll find yourself craving a slice or two. While the city may not have the pizza fame of New York or Chicago, there are plenty of great Omaha pizza places worth checking out during your visit!


Backlot Taphouse

Detroit Classic pizza from Backlot Taphouse in Omaha Backlot Taphouse is all about Detroit-style pizza. But there’s much more than pizza at this Aksarben restaurant, which is one of the best Omaha sports bars. Backlot has 29 taps, many of which highlight local breweries like Site-1 Brewing, Kinkaider Brewing Company, and Infusion Brewing Co. There are imported and national beers as well—plus an entire fridge full of bottles and cans. And with TVs on every wall, you won’t miss any your game’s action.

La Casa Pizzaria

La Casa Nostra pizza from La Casa Pizzaria in Omaha An Omaha staple since 1953, La Casa Pizzaria is a local favorite, but out-of-town visitors rave about it as well. With locations in Midtown, South Central Omaha, and West Omaha, La Casa’s pizza dough is flaky and buttery—almost like a thin biscuit—and every last inch of the pie is loaded with toppings. La Casa is famous for its Classic Hamburger Pizza, which has so much of their well-seasoned beef that it practically becomes its own layer.

Via Farina

Autumno pizza from Via Farina in Omaha While Via Farina also has a dedicated pasta program, it’s the pizza that’s made this Downtown Omaha pizza place so popular. The dough requires three days to rest before it goes into the fiery belly of Via Farina’s brilliant orange pizza oven, emerging with a crispy bottom and soft-as-a-pillow outer edge. Via Farina has a downtown location in Little Italy, but it also has a location in West Omaha.

Hot honey pizza from Virtuoso Pizzeria by David Losole No one in Omaha does New York-style pizza like Virtuoso Pizzeria. One of many Benson restaurants, you can purchase whole pies or get pizza by the slice through the restaurant’s grab-and-go window. The slices are thin and large enough to get that classic New York fold, giving you a nice crispiness in each bite. Pro tip: get the Hot Honey Pizza, which is loaded with two styles of pepperoni before it’s drizzled with hot honey. It’s one of the best pizzas in Omaha.

Williamsburg Pizza

This Millard pizza place also offers Grandma Square Crusts—thicker pies with a crispy, buttery bottom. Whichever style you choose, you’re in for an authentic New York pizza experience.
