Via Farina
While Via Farina also has a dedicated pasta program, it’s the pizza that’s made this Omaha institution so popular. The dough requires three days to rest before it goes into the fiery belly of Via Farina’s brilliant orange pizza oven, emerging with a crispy bottom and soft-as-a-pillow outer edge. Via Farina has a Downtown Omaha location, but it also has a location in West Omaha if you’re staying a bit further from the stadium.

Virtuoso Pizzeria
No one in Omaha does New York-style pizza like Virtuoso Pizzeria. You can purchase whole pies or get pizza by the slice through the restaurant’s grab-and-go window. The slices are thin and large enough to get that classic New York fold, giving you a nice crispiness in each bite. Pro tip: get the Hot Honey Pizza, which is loaded with two styles of pepperoni before it’s drizzled with hot honey. It’s one of the best pizzas in Omaha.

Mootz
The pizzas that emerge from the giant wood-fired oven at Mootz might not be authentically Neapolitan, but they’re downright delicious. These neo-Neapolitan pies give you the soft, delicious chew, but without the flop. Their 12-inch pizzas are perfect for enjoying solo or ordering several to share with a large group.

Backlot Taphouse
Like Izzy’s, Backlot Taphouse is all about Detroit-style pizza. But there’s much more than pizza at this Aksarben hangout, which is one of the best Omaha sports bars. Backlot has 29 taps, many of which highlight local breweries like Site-1 Brewing, Kinkaider Brewing Company, and Infusion Brewing Co. There are imported and national beers as well—plus an entire fridge full of bottles and cans. And with TVs on every wall, you won’t miss any of the College World Series action even if you can’t make it to the stadium.

The highlight at Noli’s Pizzeria is their New York-style pizza—the owner is so obsessed with getting it just right that he even invested in a machine to replicate the pH levels of New York water, which legend says is what makes the pizza there special. But Noli’s also serves fluffy pan-style Grandma pizzas, making it a versatile spot for CWS visitors eager to try all kinds of pizza.

An Omaha staple since 1953, La Casa Pizzaria is a local favorite, but CWS visitors rave about it as well. La Casa is famous for its Classic Hamburger Pizza, which has so much of their well-seasoned beef that it practically becomes its own layer.
