Omaha is well known as a city that loves its beef, but it’s not all about steakhouses here. Omaha is also well known for its burgers, and whether you’re looking for an artisan creation or a greasy masterpiece that has juice running down your arms, there are plenty of great spots to grab a burger here. Whether you’re between College World Series games or watching from home, these spots serve up some of the best burgers in Omaha.

Omaha Burger Places Near Charles Schwab Field

Block 16

Imagine if two chefs with a background in fine dining opened a sandwich shop—that’s exactly happened with Block 16. Consistently ranked among the best Omaha restaurants, Block 16 brings the same craft, care, and attention to detail to its burgers, sandwiches, and burritos as it would to a tasting menu. The highlight at this Downtown Omaha restaurant is the Croque Garcon, a burger adorned with ham and an over easy egg that Food Network personality Alton Brown calls his favorite burger in America.

Dinker’s Bar & Grill

If you want a classic, no-frills burger near Downtown Omaha, Dinker’s Bar & Grill is an excellent choice. This small neighborhood joint has been an Omaha favorite since 1965, and its simple yet delicious burgers and laid-back vibe still pack the restaurant nearly every day. Note that Dinker’s doesn’t take credit cards, so you’ll need to either bring cash or hit up the restaurant’s ATM.

Fizzy’s Fountain & Liquors

Located just south of Downtown Omaha in the Little Bohemia neighborhood, Fizzy’s Fountain & Liquors is best known for its craft cocktails, boozy ice cream floats, and 1950s diner vibes—complete with rotary phones at each booth for placing your order! But don’t sleep on the burger at Fizzy’s. The wagyu patty is delightfully rich and fatty, the shrettuce brings good crunch, and the “fancy sauce” provides a nice finishing touch. And if you’re feeling bold, go ahead and make it a double with bacon. Your tastebuds will thank you.

Single Double Burger

Located inside Kamp, the Blackstone food hall not far from Downtown Omaha, Single Double Burger serves sloppy, sinful burgers that’ll have you reaching for the napkins. The beef is juicy and savory, and it’s covered in gooey American cheese and a fantastic SD sauce that’ll make you forget McDonald’s Big Mac sauce forever.

Omaha Tap House has plenty of cold local beers and TVs everywhere, making in one of the best sports bars in Omaha. They also don’t slack when it comes to food, especially burgers. From the basic Cheeseburger to the wildly creative 3150 (with peanut butter, grape jelly, and bacon), Omaha Tap House runs the full burger creativity spectrum, and there are few better places to grab a bite while you watch the game.

More Must-Try Omaha Burger Restaurants

J’s Smokehouse

J’s Smokehouse is a barbecue restaurant at heart, but if all it did were serve burgers, it would still be a thriving Omaha restaurant. Smashed on the flattop, J’s burgers develop lacy, caramelized edges and a rich, meaty flavor that sets them apart. Combined with a buttery soft bun, a blanket of melted American cheese, and tangy “smash” sauce, these patties will take you to burger nirvana.

Sully’s GastroBurgers & Fries

This food truck, which posts up around Omaha and has a trailer not far from downtown in the Blackstone district, serves some of the most unique burgers in the city. Sully’s GastroBurgers & Fries employs an innovative blend of brisket, chuck, and short rib to form a patty so tender and juicy it seems more like a steak than a burger. Combine one of Sully’s signature burgers with the crispy Beef Tallow Fries and a homemade Rice Krispy Treat for an Omaha meal you won’t forget.

Hyde’s Slydes Burgers & Fries

Few Omaha restaurants create a smashburger as good as Hyde’s Slydes Burgers & Fries. The patties are smashed wafer-thin, developing crispy edges while maintaining their juiciness. But it’s Hyde’s creativity that makes it stand out. You’ll find burgers here topped with mozzarella sticks, deep-fried bacon, and strawberry aioli. And don’t forget the second part of the restaurant’s name—Hyde’s is also beloved by Omaha for its massive loaded fry platters, from the Surf & Turf Fries to the Bacon Cheeseburger Fries.
